A little about my practice…V EYE P Eyecare & Eyewear was established in June 2010. We are a young growing practice and would like to take this opportunity to thank our patients for choosing us at V EYE P to be your eyecare and eyewear provider. Our success thus far is largely due to you and all your generous referrals. I genuinely care about each and every patient and strive to provide the best customer service and high quality product to all of our patients no matter what your budget.
About me… I graduated from Indiana University College of Optometry in May 2003. Shortly after graduation, I obtained a license to practice in Texas and became therapeutic and glaucoma certified. My husband and I moved to the DFW area in 2004 shortly after I began my career in optometry. After practicing for a couple of years, I decided to branch out and start my own practice in Las Colinas. And four years later, I found another great opportunity to open a new office just outside the beautiful master planned community of Castle Hills. I thoroughly enjoy seeing patients and quite often you will find me in the optical “frame styling” my patients. I take great pride in the practice I have created and continue to learn and use that knowledge to treat my patients and educate them on the best options for their eyes.
On a more personal note…My husband Paresh and I have been married for a little over seven years and have two beautiful children, a 5 year old boy and a 2 year old girl. Work and family keep us very busy. Our management company, Kriya Management Group (kriyamgmt.com) was established in 2004 to give structure to and manage our family-owned businesses in the DFW area. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, baking and skiing. Thank you again for visiting our new website. I look forward to meeting you!
Dr. Poonam Bhana- Dr. Poonam Bhana is our full-time Doctor of Optometry at V EYE P. She was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. After high school she attended The University Of Auckland in New Zealand and received her Bachelor of Optometry Degree with Honors in 2003. Her professional career began in private practice where she provided eye care and served as the Optometrist coordinator for the Auckland region for 2 years before moving to the U.S. She continued her optometric training in the Advanced Standing International Program at The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA and graduated with a Doctor of Optometry Degree in May 2008. Thereafter, she practiced at an Eye Care and Laser Center in Plano specializing in pre- and post- operative care for LASIK and Cataract surgeries. During this time she earned her Optometric Glaucoma Specialist certification. Dr. Bhana is dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care, therapeutic treatment of ocular diseases, and managing refractive and contact lens-related complications. She believes in providing the best care possible and takes the time to listen to her patient’s needs and wants.
In her free time she enjoys reading, watching movies, and cooking. She and her husband Rinesh, a diehard Texas Longhorns fan, have recently become proud parents of a little boy. They enjoy socializing with friends and family as well as traveling internationally. She is thrilled to be at V EYE P and looks forward to building a long-term relationship with your family.
Our Staff
Christine- Christine is an American Board Certified optician from Oceanside, California. She has brought to our practice over 20 years of experience from all departments of eye care. Working together with our Optometrists to acheive the highest satisfaction for your vision needs is what makes her job rewarding. Patients appreciate her honest feedback and her professionalism in helping meet their eyewear needs.
Christine enjoys planning trips to California to soak in the love and affection of her four children and four grandsons. She enjoys decorating, working out in the gym and activites with her church.
Danny- Among Danny's job titles include optician, lab technician and handyman. Danny has 18 years of experience in the optical and is an encyclopedia of all things optics-related. He loves to help people see better and to educate patients on the latest technology available.
Danny loves to spend time with his wife and son. He enjoys the outdoors, baseball, music and reading about history and science. In his spare time he is studying to be a neurosurgeon...so he claims! He loves talking to people and simply learning how everything works in the world.
Monica- Monica has several titles including paraoptometric, insurance coordinator, and front desk and patient care coordinator. She brings over 3 years experience to the practice. Being great at multi-tasking she is our go-to girl at the office. She has an admirable work ethic and always gets the job done.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her beautiful daughter and her family and friends.
Rosa- Rosa is super excited to be our latest addition to the V EYE P team. She has been an optometric assistant and contact lens technician for over 2 years now. Her primary roles are to complete all preliminary testing, assist the doctor during and after the exam, and manage the contact lens inventory. She enjoys working in the optometry field and has worked towards gaining more knowledge in the different areas of the office.
She has 2 beautiful children and a great fiancé. In her spare time she is an aspiring photographer.
